I remember getting my first camera when I was about 12 years old. My dad made it a special event- we went to the camera store and out to eat at my favorite restaurant afterwards. It was just a simple film camera, but I’ll never forget the excitement of capturing those childhood memories in a picture.

I took pictures of everything growing up, and the birth of my two children took that childhood wonderment and ignited a new passion for photography within me. I view photography as a way of documenting life and preserving memories that can be treasured for years and generations to come. Being able to creatively capture life in a picture is a joy, and those small moments of time that express love and beauty in an image will now never fade from our memory.

I am a natural light, on-location photographer specializing in children and families serving the northern Virginia, Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, and central Maryland area. You will find that I do not use many props. If the client would like to incorporate special items in their pictures, then let’s do it, but my goal is to have your eye be drawn to the person in the photograph. My Style is bright, cheery, and loving.

My work has been featured on the cover of Child Guide Magazine, as well as on a popular photography forum, In Beauty and Chaos as a featured photographer. I was also accepted through application to the National Association of Professional Child Photographers. Photographers are accepted into NAPCP by “exhibiting quality images of children and families on a consistent basis. NAPCP members are expected to reflect exceptional skills in photography, originality and creativity, while promoting the honesty and spirit of those they capture.”

I wear many hats. Not only am I a photographer, but I have a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. I am also a pianist and taught piano lessons for several years. My main role, however, is being a Mommy to my two children. When I am not behind the camera, you will find me out and about with my family. In addition to taking photographs, I also love to read, knit, and watch This Is Us, Fixer Upper, and Pioneer Woman. A shopping trip to Nordstrom’s, Home Goods, or even Wegmans is always a good time too.

Please CONTACT ME to book a session! I look forward to working with you and consider it a privilege to capture images of your family that you can enjoy for years to come!

Much Love,
